I hope I'm not offending anyone on this board, but what's up with the architecture of the new/recent TCOM buildings? The newest one is in my opinion a huge eyesore that does nothing to complement the cultural district across the street or take advantage of the wonderful view of downtown.
Hey, anyone ever know whatever happened to the entire FW skyline being outlined in lights? I know for a long time it was sort of a claim to fame for the city. But, now it just sort of seems to be a few buildings that participate and even those buildings don't make much effort to keep it lit all the time. I also noticed that this year at Christmas, the Radio Shack/Tandy Towers didn't have the traditional 20 story holiday candles on the exterior. I was sort of disappointed to see that. I went to an estate sale at an old stone ranch house on the corner of Rector/Gambrell/Cockrell on the south side of FW. Apparently built in the '20s by the Rector family, sold later in the '60s to the Burtons or Brutons. Would be very interested in any info on this house. It must have been beautiful in its day, but doesn't look like it will survive restoration.

The first thing that has been done to alter the exterior of the building was the addition of mechanical equipment on top of the addition to the 1989 building. For awhile, the equipment was exposed. Recently, a screen was erected around the equipment to better hide it. Now a tower constructed out of steel has been erected on the west side of the 17 story blank wall.
